Harrogate Courses and Supervised Play sessions
Following the success of the first year, Jack restarts his bridge courses in Harrogate on Tuesday 30th September, Wednesday 1st October and Thursday 2nd October 2008. All courses last for eight consecutive weeks and cost £120.
The venue is upstairs at the Palm Court Café, 29 Montpellier Parade, Harrogate HG1 2TG, above Farrah's Food Halls, just down from Betty's and opposite the Crown Hotel. There is plenty of metered parking nearby, and free parking within five minutes walk.
Beginners' Course
Every Wednesday 6.15pm to 7.45pm starting 1st October 2008
Every Thursday 12.15pm to 1.45pm starting 2nd October 2008
This really does mean beginner; it's either for people who have never touched a playing card in their lives or for those who learnt in the distant past. Starting from scratch and learning at a gentle pace throughout the eight weeks, the emphasis is on fun and enjoyment, although you will be given clear notes at the end of each class.
Next Step Course

Every Thursday 10.30am to 12pm starting 2nd October 2008
Designed to bridge the gap (sorry!) between Beginner and Intermediate, the Next Step Course is the perfect way to increase confidence and build on the foundations from the Beginner Course. Also aimed at players who are too rusty for the Intermediate Course.
Intermediate Course

Every Tuesday 6.15pm to 8pm starting 30th September 2008
Every Wednesday 1pm to 2.45pm starting 1st October 2008
Aimed at those who already play bridge and need bringing up to date with the modern game, or for those who are just rusty, this course covers all basic aspects of the game. This course includes the Rule of 20, SQOT, "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly", Double and playing tricky No Trump contracts. Learning bridge has never been such fun.
NEW: Intermediate Play

This new course will be ideal for those who have completed the Intermediate course and need to consolidate their bidding technique whilst at the same time improving their declarer play and defence.
Intermediate Plus
Every Tuesday 1pm to 2.45pm starting 30th September 2008
This course follows on from the Intermediate Play course. It includes Stayman, Losing Trick Count, Rules of 7 and 11, Signals and Discards and more. As always, the set hands will test your card play! You should have already taken the Intermediate course.
Supervised Play sessions
Every Wednesday 3pm to 5pm starting 1st October 2008
Imagine playing relaxed rubber bridge with your friends in your living room, able to ask advice from a friendly, expert supervisor. That is exactly what we aim to provide. No booking is necessary, so come to as many as you like. £4 per hour.
